New Data Plans for AT&T Customers

AT&T announced yesterday that new data plans for smartphones and tablets will be available starting on Sunday, January 22. You can opt to stay with your current data plan or choose one of the new ones that include more data per month.

New Smartphone Plans

There are 3 new data plans available for smartphones:

  • 300 MB for $20 (AT&T Data Plus)
  • 3 GB for $30 (AT&T Data Pro 3 GB)
  • 5 GB for $50 (AT&T Data Pro 5 GB; this will also include mobile hotspot and tethering)

New Tablet Plans

There are 2 new data plans available for tablets:

  • 3 GB for $30 (AT&T DataConnect 3 GB)
  • 5 GB for $50 (AT&T DataConnect 5 GB)

The current 250 MB plan for $14.99 will also remain available for customers. Read more »

Send Button Joins the Facebook Like Button

Will the 'email to a friend' functionality featured on many websites be coming to an end?  The new Facebook 'send' button hopes so.

Facebook announced yesterday that a send button has joined the like button.  According to Facebook, "the Send button is a social plugin that websites can use to let people send a link to a friend through Facebook Messages, post it to a Group, or email it to an individual."  A big advantage over the traditional 'email to a friend' option is that you don't need to leave the page you are reading or fill out any forms.  If you want to send a page to someone who is not on Facebook, you can still enter an email address with the send button.   Read more »

Resolutions - Q1 Check-In and Measurement

April 1.  That means we are finished with the first quarter, finished with 25% of the year.  That seems like a good time to take a look back at our goals and measure how we are doing so far.  Remember the Resolutions series from January where we said we'd help you stay accountable?  Well, it's accountability time!

In case you haven't heard, the National Day of Unplugging is about to start!  From sundown on March 4 through sundown on March 5, people will be celebrating the 2nd annual National Day of Unplugging, a day created by the team behind Sabbath Manifesto as a "creative project designed to slow down lives in an increasingly hectic world."

The iPad 2 - Coming Next Week!

Apple announced that the wait for the iPad 2 will be over next week.  At an event in San Francisco today, Apple shared that the new iPad will go on sale next Friday, March 11 and the price for the base model (16 GB with Wi-Fi) starts at $499.  The 16 GB Wi-Fi + 3G version is $629.  And, the iPad 2 will be available in 2 colors – black or white.
