Julie Smith, CMP - OpenSparkJulie has managed and delivered world-class marketing programs throughout North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and South America for the past twenty years. Clients continually recognize Julie’s attention to detail while focusing on the big picture, strategic and creative thinking, ability to deliver marketing and business strategies that achieve results, cost-savings skills, professionalism, and straightforward communications. She has been called a “brilliant marketing strategist,” “an exceptional communicator,” and “a trusted advisor.”

Julie is a former chapter President of the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO).  Julie was named the 2010-2011 "Rookie of the Year" award winner and 2011-2012 "Board Member of the Year" by the chapter. She currently serves as the Chair of the Governance committee for the chapter.

Julie was also very active in the Philadelphia Area Chapter of Meeting Professionals International (PAMPI), serving on various committees and spending six years on the board of directors, including two terms as Vice President, Education.  Julie was named the Planner of the Year by the chapter in 2006. This award is presented in recognition of outstanding association/industry/community contributions, leadership, and professionalism, and the award recognizes a career of involvement, commitment, and achievement. Julie was recently named the 2010 Chapter Leader of the Year, an annual award presented to recognize the local commitment of a member in influencing the life of the chapter. The award focuses on cumulative service with an emphasis on the current fiscal year, and is based upon the ability of the recipient to motivate others, stimulate volunteer functions, give a sense of direction, and to act as a catalyst to cause exceptional results that benefit the chapter.

Julie received her Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems and Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from High Point University in North Carolina, and she became a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) in 1999. Previously, Smith was a software design consultant for a development company that specialized in designing applications for the financial and pharmaceutical industries.
